Only 3% of all available water on earth is fresh water. Groundwater accounts for over 97% of all freshwaters and is therefor our main source for drinking water. Our groundwater is threatened by contamination due to the use of pesticides, heavy industry waste water streams and other human induced events.
PalmSens BV is involved in a project for the development of an integrated autonomous electrochemical system for in-situ pesticide residue monitoring in groundwater supplies, lakes and rivers. In this particular case the customer has developed a sensor that detects specific pesticides, the sensor has been validated with the research grade instruments of PalmSens.
The application is then simply transferred to the OEM instrument without the need to redo the entire validation process. The customer can use the PalmSens’ OEM product to commercialize this specific application under his own brand.
Our research instruments are used in many labs and in the field to determine heavy metals in water or blood. A common technique in the field of electrochemistry to determine heavy metals in a liquid sample is standard addition.
PalmSens is also supplier of embedded potentiostat modules for heavy metal analyzers that can be used by non-electrochemists, they easy and customer friendly user interface is available for a smart phone or notepad.
